Save Our Water is spreading its water conservation message all over the state this summer through a variety of exciting partnerships. Highlighting its new “Real People, Real Savings” theme, the program is co-sponsoring a variety of fairs and large events, teaming up with Bed Bath & Beyond to give away shower timers and taking the “let’s get real about water” message to the River Cats Ball Park in West Sacramento.

Save Our Water and the Regional Water Agency teamed up on a Sacramento River Cats partnership which included installing 110 restroom signs, in-game advertising, a shower timer giveaway at the Earth Day (April 22) game and joint online marketing efforts. All restroom stalls in Raley Field in West Sacramento, home of the River Cats, features 18”x24” water conservation posters. Fans also see water conservation messages on the video board throughout each home game.

Look for Save Our Water’s Real People at many county fairs and other regional events around this state this summer. In June, Save Our Water sponsored the Paul Ecke Jr. Flower and Garden Show at the San Diego County Fair and gave 1,000 water conservation gift bags away on the June 19th “Save Our Water Day.” Save Our Water and the Department of Water Conservation will also take its water conservation message to the Marin County Fair, the Oroville Independence Celebration, the Pittsburg Seafood Festival and the Oroville Salmon Festival.

Save Our Water is joining with Bed, Bath and Beyond, one of the largest home furnishing specialty chains in the United States, to help Californians save water by taking shorter showers. On Saturday, July 10th, Bed, Bath & Beyond’s 20 busiest California stores will give away 1,000 Save Our Water five-minute shower timers—20,000 in total.
